As a former preschool teacher and a full time photographer, I find so much joy in taking photographs of children. I've worked with countless families and schools to take honest, radiant and authentic photos that capture the fleeting and beautiful moments of childhood. I love what I do..... the people I get meet, and the places I get to go. But since the recent passing of my mother - who was my biggest fan and my cheerleader - I’ve realized that that we only have one life to live, and we must live our truth to the fullest. For me, the greatest expression of my truth would be to use my experience and my gift to make a powerful impact on the lives of children.
I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Guatemala in July 2016. I captured children at El Arbol del Nino, in Panajachel for MomaHope.org, and fell in love with them instantly. Not only did I gain a new family, I also captured the beautiful town, community and culture.
There is a saying that a picture is worth 1,000 words - but what about a picture being worth 1,000 DOLLARS? My goal is to sell these prints and part of proceeds will be reinvested in the the education center to make sure these beautiful children have all of the resources they need to thrive.
